“is the filter washable ,if not how long does the filter last”

• It is a spong fliter so I believe you could hand wash and let air dry. I have not had mine long enough to get it that dirty. However, it does really get that deep down dirt in carpets. and if you have pets and used other so called pet vaccums just to have them jam or get clogged I have two dogs that shed all the time and this has yet to cause any issues.
