Super easy! Click off the canister click to open the container and empty in trash. I absolutely love this vacuum. I never thought I would guah over one but this one is magic.

The vaccum is GREAT. So easy to use and empty. Does a good job of cleaning with good suction. Wish I had bought it sooner.
