Sensor cook or not Sharp R309 Microwave, on Best Buy website, overview says "sensor cooking" under product features. Specifications show "Sensor Cook" - No. Does the 309 use a sensor or not. Do the one touch settings only use preset times or do they actually use a sensor to properly cook the food?

Manual does not mention anything about Sensor Cook.

All One Touch Options are all pre-set times for different kinds of food.

e.g. If I place a cup of water and press BEVERAGE pad one, it will display cook time of 1 min 10 sec. If I choose POPCORN, it will displace cook time of 1 min 45 sec.

You can set the times on it to cook. There's presets on it but you can choose your own time as well.

Nope - no sensor cooking on this cheap model. There are a few presets on the face panel, but no temperature sensor that plugs into the food and the oven.

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding the Sharp R309YK Microwave Oven. This model Sharp Microwave Oven does not feature sensor cooking. The “One Touch Cooking” operations feature preprogrammed times.
