Directions are complicated..still learning my way around this machine. Try pressing the Demo button (15 on the directions) and then Eco button (16 on the directions). I only had to do this once -the first time I used the machine- and then could use the regular on/off button after that. Hope this helps - it does say this somewhere in the directions but I couldn't find where.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On mine, I pushed the Demo button on the remote, released it, and then hit Eco on the remote, and released it. It said GOODBYE and shut down, i.e., blank screen without words or flashing lights.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Press button 15 Demo and button 16 ECO on the remote at the same time and it will correct the problem!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Was about to return this unit for the same reason you describe. Always flashing different functions in 'Stand by' mode. Didn't seem like you could turn it off. The solution is: on the remote there is a button near bottom called 'eco'. Press that, and then when you power off, no flashing will be displayed.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We had the same problem. Use the remote to turn it on and off. We just kept playing with it and finally the flashing instructions quit. Sorry I can't remember what we did exactly but eventually it quit flashing. Whatever you do don't return the CD Player because the sound is great and we are really enjoying ours.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Top silver button on the left side that says "On/standby"
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The power button is on the top left side of the middle section. It says good bye when you turn it off. Some words keep scrolling, but it's off. I love the sound & easy setup. Hope it works out for you!
