I've had a Roku account for more than 3 years and when I bought this Sharp - Roku 43 inch TV I simply transferred my existing account from a Roku 2 to this and no one ever asked me to set up initially or in transfer an account with MONEY involved although it is tied to a credit card so that in the event I choose to add channel which require a fee, they can bill me. Are you certain this was not a scam? I'd call Sharp CS to confirm.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did not need to have money in the Roku account. I did need to open a Roku account though. Try skipping the payment card option on the tv. It should prompt you to go to the roku link for pairing it to your account.
