I have an LG and sometimes the picture will shut off for a few seconds and then come back on, but the TV actually stays on. Since the cable box doesn't shut off I can just rewind to see the few seconds I missed. It turns out to be that the HDMI cable connection in the back gets loose so sometimes I have to just make sure its in all the way. I noticed that some HDMI cables seem to fit a little tighter than others so it just may be the brand of HDMI cable or the HDMI port on the TV. Make sure your connections are all tight and see if that helps.
