• Hi Rudy, First, I must explain that the legs of the TV sit at an angle. From the outside farthest point to the other of the legs is 46". However, I don't think that is enough 'safety-margin' on a 48" wide stand. It only gives you an inch from the edge of your TV stand on each side. My TV stand is 54" wide and just barely gives me enough room (4" on either side), for what I consider as a 'safety-margin'. This is a heavy TV, approximately 45 lbs.with the legs and is approximately 34" tall. It can be 'top-heavy' around little children and easily pushed from side to side. So, IMHO please consider a much wider TV stand for your 'safety'.
