A:Answer tl;dr: YES (to HDR)
In-store, the Best Buy reps will tell you NO. Then the box it comes in says YES. Then a Sharp rep on another size of this TV will say NO. Then power it on and the TV settings will say YES. Then call Sharp's support number, they'll have you wait for a few minutes while they go check, then they'll say YES.
I also bought a 43" version and it has the same box labeling and setting on the TV indicating it also has HDR support.
Couldn't answer for certain about edge- vs direct-lit , but I can tell you it is NOT full array dimming.
