“I just bought this microwave (Sharp Carousel 1.1 Cu.) a month ago and at first you could hear what seems to be a fan working but now I don't hear that fan noise. It still heats up the food but it is a lot quieter. Isn't there supposed to be a fan running?”

I believe the fan runs only when it had to. In other words, when the device senses too much heat. I know most newer microwaves work with this method.
