Hello- Shokz here! Having at least a 1-inch gap between your head and the headband is normal. Some customers find that the OpenRun Mini provides a more snug fit and less stress on the back of the ears. The size difference between the standard OpenRun and the mini is 0.83"

Either iis fine its just the design of the headphone, they will stay on your head regardless
