Yeah! It will be fine to use with your tv. After you set it up, you can connect to it through your smart tvs wifi settings. I havent any issues streaming with it on my laptop. It works better than i thought it would. Id say double check your coverage area for T-mobile as these devices work on those cell towers. The only thing about these units is that it turns the wifi off if no devices are connected using web for a long period of time. Its not the fasest to resume after said long break
