• It's part of the overall Simplisafe system, and using their app you can turn the system on and off remotely. When on, you're notified when the device detects movement, and the alarm sounds.

• You need the SimpliSafe system installed in your home. this is an additional sensor for the alarm system. The only connection to a phone would be through the SimpliSafe app. If you are hoping to use this as a stand alone device, it will now work.
