QuestionWill my original Simplisafe cameras work with the new 3rd Generation system? I've asked 2 Simplisafe agents who both said YES, but I couldn't get them to connect to the base. I called SS again and a tech told me NO. If you know for sure, please answer.

- Answer We're assuming that you're asking about the SimpliCam, which is indeed compatible with the Gen 3 system. You'll first want to reset them by pressing the button on the top for 16 seconds, and when you release, they'll reboot into setup mode. You can then set them up again through the SimpliSafe app like new. Just be sure, when the app asks you, to add the cameras to the same location as your Gen 3 system.

- Answer Sounds like you're looking for the Secret Alert feature. It sends text notifications without triggering an alarm. However, this will also disable its ability to trigger an actual alarm.

- Answer Not sure I understand your question but the security system works on a WiFi set up. It has a battery reserve and runs about eight hours I think if power and wifi fail. It's great!
