• AC power required with transformer to reduce to 24V. Not sure about the power failure notification

• Uses standard reduced ac power that most all wired doorbells use. Power failure shuts off doorbell and camera and your wi-fi connection so no notification or video. If you have the SimpliSafe alarm you should get a notice that the base station has lost ac power.
