Most of your new cars are made with Satellite ready stereos from the factory. I would verify this with the dealer before you purchase this kit. You may have much simpler options. Otherwise, yes, you can place it there. The aux cable should be plenty. If not, longer cords are very inexpensive. Your car kit should have an exterior antenna with a very long cord.
