“How is this unit powered? Batteries or do I need to use the cigarette lighter.? I have a usb adaptor to power our smart phones in the lighter already. Is there a usb power option?”

You'll need a lighter or aux power outlet. No batteries/usb power power adapter with radio. Maybe as an accessory on web site. You will also have to get another adapter or hard wire to back of lighter or fuse block. Try to prevent radio from being hot (Powered) with no keys in the ignition.
