“My previous car had sat so I have a subscription plan. Just purchased a new car but this one doesn’t. Plan On installing a new system but until then want something besides the app. Can I use a tuner/receiver device? Car is Bluetooth enabled. Thx”

From my experience, the car radio has to be XM ready to accept the XM tuner. My truck had an OEM radio/nav with XM, and I just installed a Pioneer with Android Auto that was XM ready. I installed the XM tuner and now have XM with the radio alone or thru the app on Andriod Auto. If your new car radio is not XM capable, I do not believe the XM tuner will work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unless the head unit you purchased or going to purchase is XM ready, than you will have to buy the XM radio and car installation kit. You can find head units relatively cheap that come with XM ready already built into the radio. With that being said all you would need than is to buy the XM tuner which installs very easily and your ready to listen to all your favorite channels. Do keep in mind that you will still be required to install the antenna with the XM tuner, simple install. If anything, you can go to Google and find numerous videos on how to install it.
