Not on my Samsung TV. The sound is either TV or Bluetooth device.

No! When you put the TV on mute you can hear through the headset but others can not hear the program.

When I use it with my tv, there is no sound coming from the tv speakers

Normally not. Unless you have some type of secondary audio output set up on the tv (like a stereo receiver with dual channel outputs)
