As someone who works closely with Deaf and Hard of Hearing people I can say the volume adjustment is very adequate and the bass adjuster allows a vibration of the sound to understand well for people of hearing impairments.

I would turn down the haptic vibrations though which are adjusted with a slider control on the headphones themselves. Typically for an application like CD player or TV audio you'd need to control the volume from the source of the audio itself. I can control the audio when I listen on my phone via Bluetooth. So audio control using the headset and it's cable is limited.
