Yes, you can use either left or right ear bud. You don’t have to have both on at the same time. This is one of the many reasons my wife loves them so much and why we bought another 7 as gifts. If you buy them, you won’t regret it. My wife prefers them over the AirPods Pro i got her last year because they’re smaller.
