Yes, this can be used with a television.

These are connected via Bluetooth. What you are looking for is a wireless RF (radio frequency) set of headphones. They usually come with a base station that connects to your TV audio out and also doubles as a charging station for the headphones. Sennheiser makes a set that I use and works very well for ~$100. This set only works if you have a 3.5mm audio out jack on your TV. They also make a very nice set that will accept a variety of inputs from your TV... ie 3.5mm, optical, SPIDIF, etc.. that set runs upwards of $250. Hope this helps

Some newer models are Bluetooth ready and will work with wireless headsets. For televisions that do not have the connectivity, Best Buy offers a Bluetooth receiver that connects to your flatscreen and will allow for Bluetooth devices to connect through a central device. I believe the cost is in the neighborhood starting at approximately $30. There are more advanced devices that go up in cost and offer better connectivity.
