• No, you do not. BUT...if someone turns that TV on while you are using SlingBox and changes the channel it WILL change what you are watching. So you do not want it on a "shared" TV.

• You do not need to have your television on to use your Slingbox. You can remotely turn your set-top box on from anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access.

• No you don't have to leave the tv on. You will be turning on the cable or satellite box on remotely through slingbox.

• No, Slingbox will turn your cable box on and off. The TV does not have to be on.

• You don't have to leave the TV on. You only have to leave the cable box/satellite set top box on. No need to leave TV on

• The tv does not need to be on but the cable box does. The Slingbox operates the cable box.

• No, you do not need to leave a TV set up with your SlingBox. We just set ours up in a spare bedroom with a cable modem.
