• I have found a great majority of the stuff that I've recorded on my DVR prior to cutting the cable on the Internet or on one of the plethora of sources on the ROKU3.

• When I record something this unit uses the DVR from my home cable box and doesn't use its own recording device. So from what I've seen this does not record separate from your cable/satellite.

• The real question is, how bad do you realy want to save those recording. If you just got to have it . Buy a 5 terabyt storage and put them on that. Other than that dont worry about it if you have satilite what you watched last night will be on tommorrow, nextweek next month 3 months from now next yeay and so forth.
