Best Buy will not install your gas dryer if you do not have a gas shut off valve that complies with current building codes. Best Buy has a display at the store where we made our purchase - located where the dryers are sold - with sample approved gas valves. They cost less than $10 and are an easy self-install (check out YouTube video tutorials). Otherwise, you can expect a plumber to charge quite bit (I was told $250).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's important to have a shut off valve for the dryer. If you don't have it, get it done by a good, reliable plumber or the gas company. The installation guys from the store will not install it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes they had to change my gas shut off valve. It cost extra. They did shut off my gas at the meter then turned it back on when they were done. All worked out fine.
