“Does this come with a drain pan? I am installing on the second floor of a house, does it need a drain pan to prevent damage in cadence of a leak?”

No. Can buy drain pan separately. (Not sure if Best sells drain pans but I know Lowe's does.) But, the problem is how do you drain the drain pan. The pan will NOT hold the water of a broken washing machine.

As long as your hoses are secure you should be good. Also, if you stay there 4-5 years, you might want to check hoses to make sure they haven't gotten thin and so could leak from the side of the hoses.
