There is a layer of padding between sections but Ive used a foam padded macPro case inside to resolve that fear.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well its not a sleeve, so they're going to put padding strategically throughout the bag. In YOUR case I'd make sure to use the laptop sleeve in the middle main compartment which also has a little extra padding just to be safe.
