I would suggest not doing that and instead simply using a rag and washcloth on a specific area that is in need of cleaning. Because while you could use a washing machine it may decrease the quality of your bag simply because the zippers and drawstrings are parts that, while attached to the bag, are just that... attached. Therefore they are easily torn off if enough pressure is applied and if the right chemical is added, then the amount of pressure needed to tear either part could significantly decrease. I do and I have nice luggage which I would never think of washing in a machine. A damp rage and a stiff brush will remove most soil and is safe for the bag.
