Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Good question! Yes the bottom of the bag does have padding! Not enough to run a crash test dummy simulation, but a little bit. Like enough where'd you'd say to yourself, "Hmmm.. at least they thought about it..."

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yea. the construction and materials are very good actually. the bottom edge has good padding and is rectangular. it will actually stay standing up instead of falling down when you set it down. the pockets on the front give it good padding on the front. it has a sling for carrying over the shoulder, a handle for carrying by hand and two straps that tuck into a pocket when not in use for wearing like a backpack. i strongly recommend it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, there is padding along the long edge of the bottom of the bag so your laptop has some cushion when placing the bag down while standing vertical in the briefcase position.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not really padded at the bottom
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is padding under where the laptop would be stored. On the outside of the bag, there is a leather strip about 3 inches wide along the bottom that provides protection, but also on the inside, there is almost 1/4 inch of padding under where the laptop would be stored. I set my bag down and never worry about the laptop getting damaged. It feels very secure inside.
