• A:Answer I just ordered the Mesa XL and fired it up for the first time last night. I reached out to the company and asked them if you can actually cook on it - with a pan. YES - you can! If you have the XL, you can order the CAMPFIRE cooking ring (they have 2 other sizes - but order the campfire.) It fits right on top - then you can place pans on it. The campfire version was about $25. Enjoy!
