“I just got this set and would like to know which receiver would be a good fit. I was recommended Sony DN1080, has max power of 165W/channel which is above the peak capacity of these speakers. Not sure if this might burn them out if the receiver was maxed?”

Thank you for your question. I would recommend any A/V receiver or amplifier that has a minimum of 100 watts of continuous power or more. The Sony STR-DN1080 would work fine with the MAG5.1R system. Keep in mind with any amplifier or A/V receiver you choose, you want to be careful not to overdrive the speakers by turning the volume up too loud.
