Hi, Thank you for your question. Yes, you will need to purchase an A/V receiver to power the system. You also will need a subwoofer cable and in-wall rated speaker wire. I would check with Best Buy on the need for speaker wire as they may have charged you for it as part of the installation. I hope you found this information helpful.
