The answer you received from Sonance is nonsense. If you don’t have access to the attic then you will need to fish the speaker wire all the way to the Jack behind your tv (ridiculous to think you’d fish all these speakers wires like that) Or, you could trench the drywall and patch it (also a ridiculous idea for 5 speakers). Yes, you need access to the attic to install ceiling speakers unless fishing the wires or trenching them is something you want to do. The answer you received was a “yeah sure…buy these no problem” bunch of nonsense. The truth is….you need access to your attic. Not impossible without access - but ridiculous.

That’s just not the way it works, accepting the fact that I don’t know condo construction. That said, I’ve removed a bay of drywall to do work before (like plumbing) and if you can cut mid way through the wall studs it’s not that bad, but you’ll have a fair amount of drywall work to do. If it were me and I didn’t have access to the attic and really wanted these, I’d cut a hole in the ceiling (between the studs) about 2x2. Most likely that’s the ceiling support. They sell those small drywall panels at Home Depot. Fish up to that, then push over to the speaker openings. Assuming of course that there’s some space to do that above the ceiling joists. Then at least it’s just a 2x2 space to fix. Not too bad. I know this is older, but figured I’d weigh in. I have ceiling speakers combined with a soundbar and like it, but if it were too much trouble, I think I’d just get a good soundbar and live with it, or get the Sonos arc bar and get some wireless surround speakers. Just my thought.
