Yes it would bring it from 8 ohms to 4 ohms but can tie in additional speaker. I’ve seen 8 zones ran off of one amp.

The included (6) satellite speakers and (1) subwoofer is the maximum number of speakers you should connect to the Sonos amp. Adding more speakers may result in an unacceptable load which could damage the Sonos amp. I agree with your suggestion to purchase an additional Sonos amp to run your Mariner 54BLA speakers.
