Hi, Thank you for your question. Yes, speaker wire is required to connect the Sonance MAG6.1 system components together and back to the Sonos Amp. The system does not include speaker wire in the box, so you will need to purchase outdoor-rated direct burial speaker wire separately for installation. For most installations, we typically recommend: • 14/4 direct burial speaker wire for most installations • 12/4 direct burial speaker wire for longer wire runs Using 4-conductor wire is preferred because it allows the system to be wired with a single speaker wire run from the amplifier out to the landscape system, simplifying installation.
