“I have the same issue as others w/ the Sub not getting loud enough.Can the sub be wired directly to the Sub output on the Amp, then add the sub in the app, then separately control sub volume and crossover? Or is that port is only for powered subs?”

Make sure you have the polarity right. Switch cables in each channel until you hear the subwoofer. If the Subwoofer is not connected properly, it's not going to work, and you will barely hear it.
