“Can I use two of these 6.1 systems to make a 12.2 system using only 1 amp? Sonance's website says that the system can be upgraded to a 16.2 using only 1 amp. 1 amp I would use for this system, and another amp could be used in another room with speakers.”

Simple answer is no, you’ll overload your Sonos amp. If you have two of these systems, use the provided Sonos amp with each 6.1 system. You will not be disappointed. You can then use the Sonos app to provide a single source of audio to each system, or separate audio sources to them individually.
