Here are some general guidelines: • Up to ~100 ft: 16 AWG is acceptable, but 14 AWG is preferred • 100–200 ft: 14 AWG recommended • 200+ ft: 12 AWG may be beneficial to minimize signal loss Since this is an outdoor system, be sure to use direct burial or outdoor-rated wire.
