Hi, Yes, the MAG6R speakers are the same speakers in the MAG5.1R system used for the three front channels. The two rear speakers in the MAG5.1R system are the MAG6R SUR speakers, and the "SUR" stands for surround. These are designed to be used as the rear speakers for the system. The difference between the two models are with the tweeters. The surround speakers have two tweeters that are designed to give you broader coverage for your surround channels. The three front speakers have a single tweeter and are designed for use as Front Left, Front Center, and Front Right. I hope you found this information helpful.
