Hi,, Thank you for your question. Yes, these speakers require an amplifier to power them. In addition, if you want to use Bluetooth with them, you will need to look for an amplifier, A/V receiver, or other source components that have Bluetooth capabilities. These speakers do not have Bluetooth built-in. I hope you found this information helpful.
