“We have a new home and want to put in the Sonos outdoor speakers. We were told that we needed an electrical plug but the speakers are wireless for operation. However I am reading that we need an amp to run these speakers. Suggestions????”

Yes. You need an amplifier to run these speakers. I recommend the Sonos Amp if you already use other Sonos equipment. The Amplifier will be indoors and speaker wires need to be run to speaker locations.
