What does hdmi pass through do? With this not having it, what would I lose? Currently all sources are connected to the tv without a sound bar. If I connect this to the tv and leave everything else the same will o get proper sounds! null

Thank you for your question. The Beam does us HDMI to plug into the tv. It can plug into standard ARC or eARC. To get the most out of your home theater experience with Beam, you'll want to make sure to plug your Beam into ARC or eARC and switch the other components to other HDMI ports. You can plug into optical and still great great sound however, optical doesn't support Dolby Atmos.

Sources to the tv , them hdmi “ ARC” to the beam and yes thats the properly way to connect it and you will get proper sound .
If you are out of inputs on your tv , you need to use adaptors .
