I bought my beam to replace the reciever and use an amp to output to my old rear surrounds and my subwoofer....gable box connects to tv...bye bye receiver and multiple remotes

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.For my needs, I found that the only real functionality added through the HDMI connection was the onscreen display. Therefore, I chose the optical input converter and noticed no difference in sound from my setup. I am also working with Xfinity. In that case your TV would act as the switch and eliminate the need for the receiver. I eliminated my original 5.1 altogether and this suits me needs perfectly.
