• First make sure that you have a voice assistant installed in the app. If that does not work unplug your player and plug it back in.

• If you haven't figured it out, you first need to activate alexa and pair it to your amazon account in the sonos app before you can use the microphone.

• You have to go into the Alexa and Sonos apps and turn it on / link it up

• I had the same problem with the microphone. It took me a while. I returned the play 1 for another one. I think the play1's are a bit more fussy then the Play 5.
