“Have Sonos indoors. Considering this 4 yard: Why amp & two speakers? Why doesn't Sonos just offer weather resistant normal speaker (Used Play 5 outside b4)? Large Yard, How loud is this? How will this integrate w/ my regular Sonos speakers indoors?”

I have a large yard too. Sonance weatherproof speakers are powered by the Amp (amp is not weatherproof - see my review of this product) which integrates with the rest of your Sonos system perfectly - these speakers are plenty loud (60W per channel). I have 8 additional Sonos speakers inside and outside (Play 3s under patio cover) and they work seamlessly with these Sonance speakers (did I mention that the amp is not weatherproof?)

I also wondered why they couldn’t make outdoor speakers compatible with the traditional Sonos. To answer your question the quality and sound meet the Sonos stamp of approval. The volume and sound is nothing short phenomenal. The amp connects to Sonos just like another Sonos component.

Please try again later.Play 5 is not rated for outdoor use, SONANCE is a high-end speaker brand, the Mariner 6's sound great and developed to be mounted outside and stay year round. The amp is basically a receiver that interfaces with the Sonos app and has an Audio in for another source if needed. This kit at it's the current price is an amazing deal, the Speakers alone run around 500.00 . Sonos developed an updated Amp (more power, and banana connectors) as such they are trying to move inventory. I have had Sonos speakers since 2012 (playbar) and it still works with there app and is supported via software upgrades. Once you buy a Sonos product it never goes out of date.

Also the outside Sonis speakers are built with components to provide the best sounds. Also the wiring needed to connect to the amp will provide the proper energy needed to handle any thing that could possibly interfere with the signals being sent. Yes they could but why not only produce the best speaker and not just a converted model.
