“Has Sony fix the issue of headband cracking and squeaking noise from the earlier model Sony mdr1000x?”

• Mine are squeaking. Comes from above the joint of the earbuds. Enough so that I can hear it when listening to low volume music with noise cancelling.

• This is Sony's answer on Amazon: "Hi Amazon Customers, We got some feedback about MDR1000X’s headband and have already taken measures for WH-1000XM2 includes improved design and materials. -Jerome By Sony Support USA on September 27, 2017" They didn't talk about squeaking noise though.

• I haven't get this cans yet because it's not available in India. But Sony claims that a change in the materials used for the headband and ear enclosures has resulted in a finish that looks more gun metal or bluey/grey. So I think it could have addressed cracking issues.
