I don't have the complete Sony home theater that you're asking about, but I do use the ARC connection on my TV, and I'm able to increase and decrease this receiver's volume using any of my 3 remotes (Sony DH770 remote, LG TV remote, Optimum cable remote), simply by pressing Vol+ or Vol-.

Please try again later.I have the 65X850 connected to the receiver via the ARC port #4 and I can control the volume on the receiver and even the Ps4 Pro (pause /play) connected to the receiver using just the XBRs remote. I don't know about the Comcast remote though. Powering up I usually just turn on my ps4 and the TV and remote will power up. Powering down, I usually turn off the Ps4 and then turn off the TV which turns off the receiver. If I wait eventually the TV powers down and will turn off the receiver.
