• You can, the rated output is 135 watts per channel in to 6 ohm speakers, so when you vary the resistance (4 ohm, 8 ohm, etc.) you change the rated output is all. So you'll realize more with 4 ohm speakers, less with 8 ohm speakers.

• Hi TheButler, The speaker impedance is 6-16ohms. The rated impedance range is also indicated on the back panel of the receiver. -Jerome
