• Hi dondi, This specific model doesn't internet capabilities. All your apps must come from your smart TV and this receiver will output all audio signals to the speakers. Thanks, >Joffrey

• I found the issue to be that you need to run an AUX cable from the TV to the reciever.

• You can definitely run apps on your smart TV through the receiver. Just go to the TV mode and it will play whatever is playing from the TV

• If you connect your Smart TV to the internet then you can connect with those apps through your TV. You can then run an optical cable from your TV into the receiver and sound will be pushed through whatever speakers you choose.
