I have this receiver connected using a HDMI (new) to a new projector (View Sonic PJD5255 3300 Lumens XGA) . I can only get a sound- It tells me " not connected to hdmi".

In my case the issue was a faulty HMDI cable, check to make sure it is a newer highspeed HDMI 2.0 cable.

There are a few factors at play here. 1) the cable may not be HDCP 2.2 compliant. 2) the cable may not be HDMI 2.0. 3) the length of run may be too much for the handshake (process of player communicating to receiver, communicating to the projector).
