Your problem sounds similar to what I had. You have to go into the settings and change the HDMI to enhanced. My son had to walk me through the process. I also gaff to change my HDMI cables to USB 2.0 or better. I actually use USB 2.2.

It doesn’t hurt to hook the cable directly into the TV and then run an audio output out from the TV to the receiver through an optical cable. That’s what I did and I couldn’t be happier.
